Every list of “rare Paladins skins” you find on Google mixes up two different things: skins that are hard to get and skins that are impossible to get. This ranking is about the second kind — cosmetics whose acquisition window closed years ago, freezing the pool of owners forever.
Our rule: a chest Exclusive is not truly rare, because chests rotate back. What ranks here are fixed-pool skins — broadcast drops, founder and beta rewards, retired ranked-season prizes and one-off promos. With Paladins in maintenance mode, none of these are ever coming back.

How we ranked rarity (methodology)
We scored each skin on three things: window length (how long it could be earned), era population (how many people were even playing when it was available), and effort gate (what you had to do). A three-day Twitch broadcast in 2017 beats a whole battle pass season; a Gold 5 ranked reward beats a level-30 grind.
That is why Inventor Pip — a 2023 skin — outranks several 2017 legends: winning 75 ranked games in Season 6 filtered through a competitive population a fraction of the size of the 2018 one. Rarity is about the pool of owners, not the age of the file.
Famous ≠ rare: the Raeve Maeve case
Raeve Maeve is probably the most recognizable skin in Paladins — and it is not on this list. It is a Legendary chest Exclusive that has returned in the Diamond, Electronica and Good Vibes chests and in Deal of the Day rotations. Iconic, gorgeous, absolutely worth owning — but with a supply that kept refilling for years, it simply is not rare.
The skins above are the opposite: modest-looking recolors like Chieftain Grohk carry more collector weight than any Legendary, because no amount of crystals has ever been able to buy them twice.
Honorable mentions
Team Fortress 2 Barik — still earnable (win 5 matches as Barik on Steam), but locked away forever from console and Epic accounts. Snowdrift Imani — required buying the full 2019–2020 Season Pass.
