This is a consensus tier list: instead of one person’s opinion, we aggregated five community ranked tier lists built on Paladins’ final balance patch (6.4) — four from active ranked players on PaladinsGuru and one editorial list — and weighted player-made lists higher. Where sources disagree, the champion’s note says so.
Because Paladins is in maintenance mode, the balance you see below is permanent. No patch will shuffle this list next month — which makes it, unlike every tier list from 2023–2024 still floating around Google, actually accurate.
Champions marked ✦ are beginner friendly: they deliver value through positioning and utility rather than raw aim — ideal picks if you are bringing friends into the game.

How we ranked (methodology)
Each source list was normalized to a 0–1 scale and combined into a weighted average: ranked-player lists from PaladinsGuru count double the editorial source. Tiers are score bands: S (0.70+) are must-pick or must-ban, A are reliably strong, B are solid picks with clear counters, C are situational, D struggle at most levels of play.
We deliberately did not rank by popularity: popular champions are not always strong (and vice versa). Where the community genuinely splits — Barik ranges from D to S+ depending on who you ask — the champion’s hover note flags the controversy instead of hiding it.
Who is the best champion in Paladins in 2026?
By consensus, Azaan — the only champion placed S+ by every source we aggregated. Behind him sit the frontline trio of Makoa, Fernando and Khan, and Imani as the strongest damage pick. If you main flank, Androxus remains the highest solo-carry ceiling in the game.
Best champions for beginners in 2026
Start with champions whose value does not depend on aim: Fernando or Terminus on frontline, Ying or Jenos on support, Tyra or Viktor for damage. All of them are marked ✦ in the list above. They teach the game’s macro — positioning, objective timing, item buying — without punishing mechanical mistakes.

Effectively no. Paladins is in maintenance mode on its final balance patch (6.4), so champion strength no longer changes between seasons. We will update the list only if an unexpected balance patch ships.
