Unlocked by winning 5 matches as Barik while playing Paladins through Steam. Free, and still available — only matches played through Steam count.
Team Fortress 2 Barik
Team Fortress 2 Barik came out of an official collaboration with Valve and arrived with Paladins’ open beta on Steam in September 2016. It reskins Barik as the TF2 Engineer — hard hat, goggles, overalls — and pairs him with the Team Fortress 2 Blunderbuss.
It was the game’s first crossover skin, years before the gen:LOCK, Monstercat and RWBY crossover passes, and it is still instantly recognizable in any lobby: every veteran knows exactly what it is and where it came from.
The catch is the platform: only matches played through the Steam client count toward the unlock, so players who only launch Paladins on console or through Epic never pick it up by playing.
How rare is Team Fortress 2 Barik?
Formally it is an Exclusive-availability collection, but it is not rare in the collector sense: the barrier is the platform, not a closed window. The unlock still works for anyone who plays through Steam — you just have to win five matches as Barik, a champion many players never touch.
On the account market the skin signals a genuine Steam-native account with real playtime, which is exactly what many buyers are looking for.
Can you still get Team Fortress 2 Barik in 2026?
Yes — if you play through Steam. The unlock (win 5 matches as Barik) has never been removed, and it costs nothing. The Paladins wiki lists no store price, so the only in-game route is those five Steam wins.
So TF2 Barik on its own is not a reason to buy an account: on Steam it is five wins away. Treat it as a bonus on an account you are buying for skins that can no longer be earned.
